COATING ENGINEER

The Company – Integrated Energy Technologies (IET) is a leading manufacturer of combustion components and systems for Gas Turbine Engines. We have immediate opening for a Coating Engineer.

The Position – This is a "center of excellence" position. IET has five manufacturing facilities and all have machining and fabrication operations. Given the nature of the high-temperature products we make, most components and assemblies require thermal barrier coating before customer delivery. Today IET has both in-house coating capability and third-party coating support (often customer directed).

A critical success factor for this position will be the reducing the cycle-time and cost of delivering finished components. This will require working with each IET operation in proper pre-coating preparation, and, working with both in-house and third-party coating operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the operating practices of each operation and developing the Company standards to ensure consistent, cost-effective practices are employed in each facility.

This position will also be required to provide value-added support to IET's customers on new product development or product improvement initiatives. When new products or product changes are launched, this person will be responsible for ensuring timely transition of production.

Additionally, this position will assist in trouble shooting of manufacturing and overhaul and repair challenges at all IET facilities.

The Qualifications –
  • Four year degree from a recognized major university in an applicable discipline
  • 5-10 years experience in thermal barrier coating of turbine components
  • Experience should include set up and programming of coating systems
  • Ability to perform quality control on coating is required. Types of coating, HVOF, plasma, ceramics, carbides, etc.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel as required.
